Suntech Overview
Suntech Power was founded in 2001 by Dr Zhengrong Shi who is widely recognised as a pioneer of solar module manufacturing and dubbed as the “sun king” as he became the world’s first solar billionaire in 2006. Since commencing operations in 2001, Suntech has manufactured over 24GW of photovoltaic modules which have been distributed to over 100 countries.
The Australian Connection - 2001-2021
Since 2001, Suntech has developed a strong connection to the Australian market, with research and development projects being run at UNSW, ANU, and Monash University. These connections were enabled as founder and former CEO, Dr Shi obtained his doctorate degree of solar power technology at UNSW prior to founding Suntech.

CELL PRODUCTION
Suntech solar cells undergo a chemical surface micro-texturing process that improves their ability to capture light. The cell production facility employs industry-leading manufacturing techniques to create high conversion efficiency solar cells.
MODULE PRODUCTION
Cells with similar electrical characteristics are matched during module assembly to minimize efficiency losses. Laminated modules are equipped with corrosion-resistant frames and weather-proof electrical components to create a durable, water-tight product.
TESTING AND VERIFICATION
Suntech's quality control program features 52 tests and checks throughout the cell and module manufacturing process. Once fully assembled, all Suntech modules undergo a final performance test and are categorized based on power and current production. Suntech's rigorous review process ensures they deliver only the highest quality products to the customer

Suntech announced the Ultra V Series high-power PV module has recently been awarded two certificates by VDE in Germany with IEC 61215 and IEC 61730. The certifications are including both monofacial & bifacial modules of Ultra V Series, marking a high recognition of the reliability, performance and quality of the PV modules. Simultaneously, bringing the innovative technology to rooftop-ready module formats, Ultra V mini Series, the full-black mini-sized module is set to exceed 410W output power. It is a universal solution for the potential larger installation demand for both residential and commercial rooftops.
